Recently number one beach in the West by Sunset Magazine, the City of Laguna Beach is located off Pacific Coast Highway (California State Route 1) just to the north of Dana Point, south of Newport Coast and Newport Beach and to the west of Irvine and Aliso Viejo. Other ways to access Laguna Beach include the 73 Toll Road and the 133 Freeway which can be accessed off the 405 Freeway in Irvine or Interstate 5.
Laguna Beach is the second oldest city in Orange County and was once a thriving artist community and today continues to feature many art galleries, spectacular art shows, such as the Pageant of the Masters and the annual Sawdust Festival as part of the Festival of the Arts.
Laguna Beach is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in all of California with many tucked into little coves and the water the color of turquoise along this seven mile stretch of beautiful prestine coastline. Beachgoers enjoy soaking up the sun, swimming, exploring the tide pools, surfing, kayaking, boating, and more.
Other outdoor activities in Laguna Beach include golf at the Aliso Creek Inn or nearby golfing locations such as Monarch Beach Golf Links in Dana Point or Pelican Hill Golf Club in Newport Coast. Laguna Beach also features trails up in the hillsides for mountain bike riding or hiking, all with amazing views of the southern Orange County coastline.
